“Take me please,” I demanded, glaring up at the ceiling.  I slammed my arms into the bed, grabbing the satin sheets tightly in my grasp.  I arched my back upwards to him.  “I want to be with you forever.” 

“With all your heart?” he asked.

I thought it would be fun to set a story around a child of Rayea and Blick’s. This is assuming that they actually get together, are married at some point, and live happily ever after with a son (if it occurs in that order). It’s a possibility for where the Vampire from Hell series may be headed. But it’s just a possibility.

What is the story “Zombie Wolf: The Next Generation” about?

At twenty-four Zachary has been through many zombie outbreaks and knows how to stay alive. He’s been so good at killing zombies for so many years that he makes a living at it. He claims it’s the reason he has the nickname the ‘Zombie Wolf,’ even though he knows that’s not the case.

With time and space travel being as common as the Internet and cell phones, Zachary and his team travel often to kill zombies and rid the solar system of total infestation. “Your mother is a writer.  She exaggerates,” my dad replied, rolling his eyes toward the ceiling.  “Who is this girl to you anyways, Zach?  You don’t even know her?”

“I get that.  I’m not an idiot.”  I tried to control my rage.  “I’m not sure, Dad.  But I felt it when I saw her in the coffee shop.  I don’t want to regret later that I could have done something, you know?  I don’t want to live alone, being the only freak of nature, a werewolf zombie even if it means I can walk among them undetected.  I don’t want that!  If I don’t try to save her, I won’t know.  Now will I?  What if she too was born with the new virus?  What if that makes her unique like me?”

“That would explain the mark.  Maybe she was born with the virus.  Who is her father or mother?  Your aunt?  This may be beyond your abilities, son.  I’m sorry.  We don’t save zombies.  We destroy them.  We have to stay on top of this situation before it gets worse among the vampires and werewolves.”

“It’s gotten worse, Dad.  It’s jumped species.  I know it.”

“Do you have proof,” he challenged.

I pointed to the girl in the cage.  “She’s a werewolf, Dad.  She told me so.”

Not believing me, he grunted.

Using his same logic, I rebelled.  He had to understand what he was saying.  Rules were meant to be bent sometimes, even broken.

“Before there were zombies,” I began.  “Werewolves used to kill vampires.  And yet, you didn’t kill Mom.  You were there to protect her.”  As best I could, I faced Dad head on.  I made a point to thrust my chin up and glare up at him like I had seen my mom doing on more than one occasion.  With his height, he had no problem looking down at me, but he had to know I wasn’t backing down.  I hadn’t backed down against Rex and the others, and I wasn’t backing down now.  As insane as it seemed, I wasn’t wrong about this.

Dad searched my face for many minutes.  The silence in the room thickened.  I could hear only the girl’s ragged breathing as she fought the poison.

Trying to remain calm, I refused to look away from my dad, glaring up at him.  I was ready to take on the world.  My god, I thought.  What has happened to me?  I turned my attention back to the girl.  She had slowly approached my side of the cage and stood near me, also glaring over my shoulder at my dad.  Her blonde hair was tousled amid her face, but I could see the distrust behind her eyes.  Even in her chaotic state, she looked adorable.

In typical parent fashion, my dad reached out his hand and rubbed his fingers through my black hair, somewhat shaking my entire body.  He was unbelievably strong.  He did that dismissal move on me when he wanted me to know that, for now, he was tabling the situation.  I knew it wasn’t over.

“We’ll have to address this if your experiment doesn’t work.  Okay?” he asked.

“Yes, sir,” I replied.

Finally he patted me on the shoulder.  “I forget how stubborn, like your mother, you are.”  He chuckled and walked to the door.

Realizing I had gotten my way and he was leaving me to my task, I watched as he lingered at the door.  “You know,” he said.  “You are the son of a vampire with healing blood.  Maybe that can help.”

Interview by Randi Fang with Amelia and Damon, both vampires, madly in love, and on the run.  Recorded May 2, 2013 at an undisclosed location.

Max and I sat for a very long time on the hood of my Porsche SUV.  I knew the two vampires were in the woods, but they didn’t want to appear.  When midnight rolled around and the full moon surfaced behind the night clouds, I knew we’d probably get to meet them.  I drove the vehicle closer to the trees, parking it with the headlights facing out towards the clearing.  We’d be able to see any presence if a demon showed up.  I knew this forest well because I had used it many times for my hunts.  It had a large ravine at the other end.  No demon would climb rocks to make a surprise appearance.  Demons were lazy and not especially bright.

I jumped out of the SUV and opened the front and back passenger doors.  Then I returned to the vehicle.  “Max,” I said as I left my driver door open.  “Get out and stand here by me.  If you smell anything weird, nudge me.  Okay?”

He did as I requested with little hesitancy, glancing back at me with his gleaming gold eyes.

I turned off the engine and the headlights.  The moon was shining, so there was some light illuminating us.  I sighed with relief.  Let’s do this, I thought to myself.  I couldn’t count the creepy ways I had met vampires for interviews.  Some could be as human as the next person, meeting in a bar or coffee shop.  Others, the really old ones, were downright weird.  Ancient, I thought.  That’s what it is.  They don’t know better.  “We need to do this people,” I said to the night.

I saw an image flash out of the corner of my eye.  Someone had hopped into the front passenger seat.  Then another weight shifted the SUV and I felt the back passenger seat fill with a presence.

“Randi?” a male voice asked.

“Yes,” I replied, feeling an overwhelming draw to his masculinity.  He was indeed a vampire, not a demon.  I breathed in slowly.  Dear lord, what have I gotten myself into.

“Sim said you could help us.”

I nodded, not moving my hands from the steering wheel.  I had learned vampires could be very jumpy if they were as panicked as I sensed these two were.  The male sitting next to me seemed very protective.  Very protective.  It flowed off of him in waves.  The female was clearly shaken, confused, and a new vampire.

“Show your fangs please,” the male vampire commanded.

I did as he requested.  The blood flamed in my veins and I felt an immediate attraction to this man without even seeing him yet.  I had heard some vampires possessed a heightened sex appeal, and this guy had it in droves.  Trying to forget a feeling of nakedness that was washing over me, I let my fangs remain visible.  Let’s do this, I shouted in my mind, wondering if the vampire could hear me.  My patience was growing very thin.  We were either going to talk or I was going to jump the man’s bones as the newbie vampire girl could watch.  I exhaled again slowly.  My blood smoothie was just kicking in.

“What will they do to us if we are caught?”

His brown eyes glazed over.  He turned his attention to my disarrayed dress and gently smoothed the wrinkles away, refusing to answer.

“I can fight any demon who gets in my way,” I snapped.

Slowly he moved his hands, giving me a low grunt of disbelief.

As I flattened out the ruffles in my lap, I marveled at how warm his touch was, how satisfying and soothing.

“They’ll kill us both if we don’t escape soon enough.”

As Damon paused in front of me, I asked him mentally, “So we have to have sex first, you meet your father, and then we can leave.”

He chuckled again, this time with a sincerity he had lacked before.  He glanced at me and winked, pointing at the door.  Then a deadly passion surface in his eyes.  He sighed loudly.  “Are you ready,” he whispered tenderly.

After a few moments, I waited for his next move.  His disposition was unpredictable and I didn’t know if he was going to kiss me on the forehead or break me in half.

“Remove your dress,” he commanded.

The four-leaf clover is an uncommon variation of the common, three-leaved clover. The three-leaf clover or shamrock had been used by St. Patrick as a metaphor for the Christian Trinity. According to tradition, such leaves bring good luck to their finders, especially if found accidentally. In addition, each leaf is believed to represent something: the first is for faith, the second is for hope, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck.

It has been estimated that there are approximately 10,000 three-leaf clovers for every four-leaf clover; however, this probability has not deterred collectors who have reached records as high as 160,000 four-leaf clovers.

Clovers can have more than four leaves: the most ever recorded is 56, discovered by Shigeo Obara of Hanamaki, Iwate, Japan, on 10 May 2009. Five-leaf clovers are less commonly found naturally than four-leaf clovers; however, they, too, have been successfully cultivated. Children are traditionally told that a five-leaved clover is even luckier than a four-leaved one. Some four-leaf clover collectors, particularly in Ireland, regard the five-leaf clover, known as a rose clover as a particular prize. Source.
